All good things must come to an end, and so my guest stint on the Yo, Is This Racist? podcast with my new BFF Andrew Ti has reached its conclusion. Did we save the best for last? You be the judge:
The post I refer to in the podcast, the one where my Hardass Asian Mom and I (sorta) live-blogged The Karate Kid remake, can be found here. It’s probably one of the most popular posts I’ve ever written for the site–due entirely to the hilarity of the HAMeo (Hardass Asian Mom’s cameo)–so if you’re not familiar with it, check it out.
And if you want more Yo, Is This Racist?, subscribe to the podcast, read the site, read Andrew’s other equally hilarious site, Yo, Should I Dump This Asshole?, like Yo, Is This Racist? on Facebook, follow it on Twitter, but no matter how much you love his flow, please please do not hug Andrew on the street, yo.

Yo, Is This Racist? Podcast f/t DISGRASIAN Day 4: Was The HBO ‘Girls’ Controversy About Racism Or Sexism?
Happy Thursday! Sick of me talking yet? I hope not, because this is my favorite of the Yo, Is This Racist? podcasts I’ve had the pleasure to participate in so far.
In this one, host Andrew Ti and I talk about HBO’s GIRLS, which got a lot of attention in its first season for the show’s lack of diversity. Was it fair? Or were people just piling on because the show was created by a woman? Have a listen:

Yo, Is This Racist? Podcast f/t DISGRASIAN Day 3, aka Hump Day: What To Do When Your Friend Likes Racist Music
Hey y’all. Happy Wednesday. I’m sick today so I hate everybody. Like, every time I cough, I actually think, I HATE EVERYBODY. My immune system right now is made up of 50% white blood cells, 50% fuck you rage. Grrrrr.
But I love you people through sickness and in health. And I thank you for coming back to listen to me blah blah blah again on the awesome and amazing Andrew Ti’s Yo, Is This Racist? podcast.
Today we talk about Black Metal–a subject you will soon learn I know tons about–and what to do about friends who like racist stuff.
PS Do you think when the caller said he had “a friend,” he was really talking about himself? Hmmm.
Oh, and here’s a New Yorker piece on Black Metal. No mention of the racism component though.
7th grade was the year parents started dropping us kids off at the mall for hours at a time with some money and a “don’t get kidnapped” warning because they needed us to be loud, annoying, and hormonal somewhere out of the house. I remember being at the movies one time with my girl posse, and I was running it before the start of the movie, and in a fit of swagger I exclaimed, “I need a microphoooone!!!!!”
To which the older lady sitting behind me said–and by older, I mean from a 12 year-old’s perspective, so, like, 20 or so– “No, you don’t.”
Which shut me up right quick. Because I was taught to respect my elders.
Today Andrew and I talk on his podcast about workplace segregation, with a little detour back through the 19th century. Have a listen!

Today’s topic? Natural hair. Inappropriate touching of strangers. Bad Asian drivers.
Oh, and…things that are racist.
Thanks for listening, I’ll be here all week long. Try the veal!
