Babel’s Rinko Kikuchi debuted a new ‘do at the historic opening night of La Fille Du Regiment at the Met (Opera, that is), and alls I can say is the girl can really rock a bowl cut. I had a similar hairstyle in the early 90′s (my inspirations: Demi Moore in Ghost and Chynna Phillips…okay, shut up), but it wasn’t nearly as successful. It got me stopped a lot…from entering women’s restrooms. Yeah, everyone thought I was a boy. But it was the 90′s! Androgyny was hot! Everybody was all about girls who are boys who like boys to be girls who do boys like they’re girls who do girls like they’re boys etcetera! And, uh…okay, everyone just thought I was a boy.
Anyway, there’s no mistaking Rinko for a dude, especially in this hot pink, Yves Saint Laurent bedskirt:
BBC News reported today that the Japanese Distributor of mind-numbing blockbuster Babel has issued warnings about the film, due to more than fifteen complaints that a particular scene featuring actress Rinko Kikuchi made them physically ill.
“The concerns are thought to centre on a scene featuring Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi in a nightclub.
Distributor Gaga Communications has warned it features “highly stimulating effects” such as strobe lighting.
The company has placed warnings about the Oscar-nominated film in national newspapers, on their website and has also requested it to be displayed on posters at about 300 cinemas.”
Err… this film features handfuls of scenes of Japanese teen cooch and we think the “highly stimulating effects” are the STROBE LIGHTS IN THE NIGHT CLUB?
