Iowa Rules

April 3rd, 2009 | 0 comments | Posted by Diana

How about a bit of good news?

From AP:

The Iowa Supreme Court issued a unanimous ruling Friday finding that the state’s same-sex marriage ban violates the constitutional rights of gay and lesbian couples, making Iowa the third state where marriage is legal.”*

*Therefore proving that, although Middle America may not necessarily lead the country in the news, banking, entertainment, or fashion industries, it sure can be at the forefront of the industry of yanking one’s head out of one’s own ass. Seems like there are about 47 other states (um, hi, California) that could and should take a cue from that.

The Obama Infomercial: Maybe We’ll Be In the Next One

October 29th, 2008 | 0 comments | Posted by Diana

Dear Barack Obama,

We’re here for you.

We’re going to vote for you.

All of this, even though we could barely make out more than one Asian face during thirty minutes of glossy, real American programming during tonight’s simulcast infomercial.

Maybe next time, right?

Sigh,
DISGRASIAN

P.S. By the way, we get that this infomercial was for fat, old, bald guys in Ohio, not us. But the wound still smarts.

P.P.S. We almost cried when we saw your baby pictures. So cute!

What’s Kimora Fabulous Than JC Penney?

July 14th, 2008 | 0 comments | Posted by Diana

Page Six reported over the weekend that Steve Madden and Kimora Lee Simmons have made a deal for Madden to exclusively manufacture and supply all the shoes, handbags and belts for Simmons’ new Fabulosity line at JCPenney.

I know what you’re thinking… what could be more fabulous than a partnership with the king of trendy shoe knockoffs, available at malls across middle America?

Nothing, I tell you. NOTHING!
