And We’re Back!

August 5th, 2008 | 0 comments | Posted by Diana

Friends and readers, we know you joined us in bidding our dear friend, Facebook Scrabulous, adieu–when it died an unceremonious, corporation-induced death last week. We thank you for your kind words and sentiments.

But ladies and gentlemen, we have some very exciting news for you.

SCRABULOUS IS BACK! But now it’s called WordScraper. And it’s loaded with lots of cool, mod, sea-colored circles!!

I suppose this means I’m now off to challenge the Agarwalla brothers. Time to bingo one of their brilliant asses.

So Long, Scrabulous

July 29th, 2008 | 0 comments | Posted by Jen

Scrabulous, the online Scrabble knockoff brought to you by the Agarwalla brothers and our raison d’être, is dead.

After Hasbro (the official makers of Scrabulous) filed a lawsuit against the Agarwallas, Scrabulous was shut down this morning.

And I was just mounting a spectacular comeback against my Scrabulous nemesis, Bill, during which I dropped the bingo “wahines” for 91 points. Fuck. Also, apparently Hasbro’s version of the game sucks. Great.

Word Wars

July 8th, 2008 | 0 comments | Posted by Diana

Well, well, well… It looks like Hasbro and Mattel have FINALLY partnered up with gaming entity Electronic Artists, Inc. to make an authorized online version of Scrabble. The intent is to, after much ado about something, take down Scrabulous, the Facebook application deftly created by the Agarwalla brothers (pictured above) well over a year ago.

All we can say is: Too little too lasian!!! As was to be expected, our rad Indian brohams beat those fools to the punch. Why would we stray now?

Also, if we can’t use the authorized version to pridefully cream our overseas brethren, what’s the friggin’ point?

Grasian Roots

February 8th, 2008 | 0 comments | Posted by Diana

Hasbro’s mission to kill the joy of Facebook Scrabulous is an outrasian. Jen and I firmly believe that we, perhaps more than anyone, stand for the movement to keep Facebook Scrabulous free. We’ve joined the online fight, and dare we even mention the weeks we’ve dedicated on the ground level–picketing on our respective street corners, wildposting around our urban landscape, pamphleteering, all of that stuff! We mean business!

We’re not the only ones. People across America are comin’ a-runnin’, all of us trying to light dry grass and begin a movement like wildfire…a movement to save the Agarwalla Brothers’ Scrabulous!

If we haven’t convinced you, let this lady tell you how flossy, flossy Scrabulous is. If you haven’t already, join the fight!

You’ve Gotta Fight! For Your Right! To Scrabulous!

January 17th, 2008 | 0 comments | Posted by Diana

We can’t believe the gall of Hasbro for trying to crash the party on the Scrabulous, a Facebook Applicasian invented by our Amazian of the Week heroes Jayant and Rajat Agarwalla (pictured above).

Having realized all too late that Scrabulous is, as we mentioned months ago, the funnest damn thing online since cyberscrewing, Hasbro apparently wants to make sure no one else is cashing in on their caché–they want Scrabulous’s ass shut down. Hasbro is THE MAN.

We can only scoff at this stupidity–we’re witnessing the panic mode that sets in when an archaic corporasian doesn’t have the balls or vision to rise with technology. But sledgehammering people’s free, online joy does not pave the pathway to success… haven’t any of us learned from the ghost town of the music industry? If not, uh… we have a few thousand unemployed record executives wearing “Fuck Napster” shirts for you to talk to.

Fellow readers, let’s not take this sitting down! Join us in protesting this nonsense, and keep those delicate Facebook friendships (likely held together ever-so-precariously by the common thread of Scrabulous fun) alive! Sign the “Save Scrabulous” online petition here.

(Speaking of Facebook, if you haven’t joined us in Facebook’s DISGRASIAN NATION, we’re missing you. Come on in!)

Thanks, Maris!
