Google Chrome: Another Way Google Is Trying to Own Your Ass

Over the weekend, Google launched its first TV ad campaign evar, to promote its web browser Google Chrome, which launched in September (only for PC’s) and is not doing that well as the fourth-ranked browser behind Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, Mozilla’s Firefox, and Apple’s Safari.

In addition to the ad, Google’s also produced a collection of Chrome shorts, presumably to put a warm, fuzzy, Apple-like face on their unstoppable quest for total global domination. Almost all of the shorts are scored with happy, Lexapro-type music and have a very Stuff White People Like-aesthetic. Stop motion-style animation! Cool fonts! Kitty cats! And Asian people!!! Here are Anisa Suthayalai and Alex Lin, two NY-based designers known as Default Office, in the short they made:

Introducing the “Ooogle” sari, by Indian designer Satya Paul:

For those who feel that wearing the logo of a bajillion dollar Internet juggernaut comes off as a little ostentatious, perhaps you’d like to consider the much more subtle “Money” sari or the understated yet still fashion-forward “Barcode” sari:

None of these saris, however, hold a candle to the Toilet Paper Wedding Dress.
