I discovered this week that the Maury show is still on television, with grinning host Maury Povich busting cheaters and soothing folks with atypical fears every afternoon with just as much fervor as ever. With a quick Internetz search I also learned that Povich’s marriage to journalist Connie Chung is still going strong (see above photo, from 2010) after 27 years–675 years in Hollywood time, and that the seemingly unlikely pair only seem to be acquiring adorable laugh lines with age. Good for them!
Here’s hoping that Povich’s family (He and Chung have one son, as well as two daughters from his previous marriage) had a nice little celebration for the trash talk king’s 72nd birthday this past Monday. That’s assuming he doesn’t have a paralyzing fear of birthday cakes or anything…

Finally! Two men on TMGTL with truly sound, loving, smart relationship advice. And they just so happens to be the two halves of our favorite-favorite-FAVORITE couple, George Takei and Brad Altman:
Looks like these old truths haven’t changed!
1. Love requires sharing.
2. Love requires patience.
3. Even the best couples argue about wilted produce.
4. Trying to keep everything in context is important.
5. You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince or princess.
6. ALL THE BEST ONES ARE GAY OR TAKEN. Or in this case, BOTH!

If these aren’t the cutest wedding photos we’ve ever seen, we’re not sure what are! Many, many, many congratulasians go out to George Takei and his handsome hubby Brad Altman on their recent nuptials! We foresee a future of lots and lots of super-duper happy years spent together in domestic bliss (although, speaking from personal experience, we must insert the caveat that sometimes domestic life is just “super” and not always so “duper”).
The happy daysians–resulting from last week’s California Supreme Court ruling that cleared the way for gay marriage–just keep on coming! George Takei announced on his blog over the weekend that he now plans to marry his partner of over two decades, Brad Altman–and even though we hate weddings we can’t help but get kinda weepy and super-sentimental about it.
Congratulasians, Takei and Altman! Can we please be invited to the wedding? We are great gift givers and willing to dance until the band loads out.
