DISGRASIAN OF THE WEAK! Asian American Men Earn Less Than Their White Counterparts
It’s Friday, so let’s blow off work for a minute and play the “WHO AM I?” game, okay?
- You earn 29 percent less than white men in the U.S. when you’re born and educated overseas.
- You earn 14 percent less than white men in the U.S. when you’re born and educated partly overseas but obtain your highest degree in the U.S.
- You earn 8 percent less than white men in the U.S., even when you’re born in the U.S., speak perfect English, and have an almost identical educational background to your white counterparts.
“I’M ASIAN!”
(You could also be Black, Latino, Native American, or a member of any other non-white ethnic group, none of which has achieved wage parity with whites in the U.S.)
Now back to work–for less pay–you go!
