Slant Eye For The Round Eye invites our friends in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area to attend a rally and press conference Saturday, October 2, in memory of Fong Lee, a Hmong teenager shot to death by police officer Jason Andersen in 2006. The family’s previously-denied wrongful death lawsuit is being appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. More details about the case and the rally are here.
Asian American Students for Community and Talent (AACT) at Cal State-Northridge will host The Forum on Human Trafficking on Wednesday, October 6 at 4pm. The Forum is a campaign to inform folks about the reality of sex tourism and human trafficking, and was founded in response to the April revelation that the University’s professor Kenneth Ng was running his own site promoting the Thai sex trade. We assume he’ll be calling in sick next week.
