Johnson & Johnson heiress Casey Johnson was reported dead at age 30 yesterday, a news story that gained traction because the socialite had recently captured headlines, as the affianced to Tila Tequila and one-third of a love triangle with Courtenay Semel.
As soon as the news broke, readers realized quickly that Johnson’s death–which must have come as a painful shock to her family (father is NY Jets owner Woody Johnson) and lifelong friends–was overshadowed in the headlines by her fledgling ties to Tequila.
Not to miss an opportunity to think publicly, Tequila (who was reportedly mid-fight and out of contact with Johnson at the time of her death), took to Twitter to communicate her grave concern as the news filtered through:
Applause to Tila for even entertaining, for one hour, the notion of going offline in dealing with such a tragic event.
However, while we don’t doubt that Tequila–whose life and mind seem so increasingly confusing, sad and fucked that we’re almost unable to talk about her anymore–has suffered a deep loss…sometimes, “Omg” and exclamation points don’t convey exactly how deep.
