5. Lewiston, Maine

4. Those asshole lobsters

3. Really cold winters

2. Super lame self-referential terms like “Mainers” and “Maine-iacs”

1. November 3, 2009, the day Maine voters rejected a state law that would allow same-sex couples to marry, just six months after the measure was passed by state legislature and signed by the governor.

Um… can somebody say, “EPIC FAIL, YOU DUMBASS MAINE-IACS?”

I’d like to eat gay lobsters from Maine.

  2. dalianmoon says:

I think it’s messed up to begin with that whether or not people who love eachother should be allowed to marry is an issue that needs to be voted on. Love is love, FFS! This comes from a personal place for me, since I have many gay and lesbian friends and relatives.

  3. CKShaw says:

Big sigh. I think I’ve grown accustomed to disappointment. The added piece is knowing that if my family lived in Maine they too would have voted down marriage rights for Gays and Lesbians. This comes from a personal place for me since I AM one of the lesbian friends and relatives.

  4. Simon says:

I have some respect for Maine, what with Stephen King and all. However, I am disappointed in the repealed gay marriage law.

    and lol at xyien’s comment.

    GO YANKEES!

DAMN! Forgot to include Stephen King on the list! I kid, I kid.
