Over the weekend, Google launched its first TV ad campaign evar, to promote its web browser Google Chrome, which launched in September (only for PC’s) and is not doing that well as the fourth-ranked browser behind Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, Mozilla’s Firefox, and Apple’s Safari.
In addition to the ad, Google’s also produced a collection of Chrome shorts, presumably to put a warm, fuzzy, Apple-like face on their unstoppable quest for total global domination. Almost all of the shorts are scored with happy, Lexapro-type music and have a very Stuff White People Like-aesthetic. Stop motion-style animation! Cool fonts! Kitty cats! And Asian people!!! Here are Anisa Suthayalai and Alex Lin, two NY-based designers known as Default Office, in the short they made:
