Known for: improving and developing the technology of a three-dimensional solar cell that absorbs both UV and visible light, perhaps taking an integral step towards greater cell efficiency. As a result of this project, the Davidson Institute for Talent Developmentmade him a fellow (an honor typically given to graduate-level researchers) and garnered him both a $25k scholarship and a trip to the Library of Congress to receive the award.
Jen and I often brag about being 12-year-old geniuses, but uh, compared to William, we might as well have been dropping acid and getting groped in the girls’ bathroom throughout our junior high careers. He rules!
