Here’s one of my all-time favorite Monday morning headlines:
Stoner snares China victory
And then there’s this one, a close second:
The first story has to do with a Ducati race in…zzzZZZzzzZZZzzz.
The second, about these Chinese government-funded non-profits opening up worldwide which are designed to teach Chinese and skills for doing business in China, is a bit more interesting:
The institute will provide, among other things, short term training opportunities for central Indiana companies who wish to do business in China or expand their operations there.
I’m not really buying the non-profit angle. It sounds like a Ka-Ching-Chong Institute, only a self-regulating one, run by the Chinese to exploit their own consumer. If the exploitasian is “for us, by us,” I don’t have that much of a problem with it.
But what’s up with the name, Confucius Institute? It’s so DISGRASIAN, gongs are going off in my head and the smell of burnt rice is singing my olfactory senses.
