Reuters reported yesterday that tourism authorities in China are looking to fund “Women’s Town,” a theme attraction set in a small village in the Shuangqiao district of Chongqing where “women rule and men obey.”
One official said:
“Traditional women dominate and men have to be obedient in the areas of Sichuan province and Chongqing, and now we are using it as an idea to attract tourists and boost tourism.”
I imagine that it’s a lot like most of the dominatrix clubs we’ve all been to, except bigger. And instead of hearing “you’ve been a bad, bad boy” you hear a lot of this:
Your father and I work our whole life to give you money and food and look what a bad, ungrateful boy you are. Why do you think so much about fun? Life is not about fun. You need to be successful and have a good life for yourself and your family. Why did you get ninety-seven percent on your vocabulary test, where did the other three percent go? When I went to school I never got anything less than one hundred percent or else my father locked me in my room. If you need to study three more hours you should study three more hours. Your brother never gets any questions wrong. Your brother is more dedicated to study and making his mother happy. He respects his parents and grandparents. Look at the neighbor’s daughter. Do you see how smart she is? You should be smarter than a girl. You bring dishonor to the family! Where are your schoolbooks? Why don’t you like math? If you don’t try harder to play violin you will never get into medical school! You bring shame to your ancestors. You are a very evil, bad boy!
