AP reported today that a croc in a Taiwan zoo severed the forearm of zoo keeper Chang Po-yu as he reached to retrieve a tranquilizer dart from the animal’s side. (Don’t worry, his forearm his since been reattached.)
“The Liberty Times newspaper said Chang failed to notice the crocodile was not fully anesthetized when he stuck his arm through an iron rail to medicate it.”
Lesson learned: Always check to see that a crocodile is fully anesthetized before sticking an arm through an iron rail in the vicinity of its mouth full of chompers. Difficult, yes, but worth it in the long run.
