Crime and Punishment
Li Na, China’s #1 ranked tennis player, advanced to the semis of the Pacific Life Open after defeating Russia’s Vera Zvonareva, 6-4, 7-5. The NYT reported today about the time Na-Na dared to defy her Chinese coach:
“Li was ordered to stand in the same spot during practices until she apologized, which meant staying put for several hours in the morning and several more in the afternoon. It took the stubborn Li three days before she said sorry.”
Damn, Na-Na. I thought my parents were strict when they grounded me for not making straight A’s, foiling my plan to see Prince and the Revolution on the Purple Rain tour. But standing in shame for 3 days? That shit is HARSH.
